The installation package is big because a huge translation database used for machine translation and a bilingual corpus used in example sentence search are shipped with Smart Chinese Reader and operate locally (offline). That's especially valuable when working in areas with poor or non-existent web connections. Please download it with a download manager. Without such a program, download speed would slow down so much that the installation file would become corrupted and break off during the installation process with an error message.
